I feel like shit. Physically. I’m sick, again. When you take meds that suppress your immune system, and you have a house full of people who are/were sick, it’s best to start the countdown, because that shit will get you. It’s just a matter of “when”. The question is all about severity and time span. I can still function, but I’d really prefer to be asleep at this time. But, my work ethic is to your benefit, because you get a few tight-ass joints. For free.
Just because I feel like shit, doesn’t mean the music has to reflect that. Actually, mentally, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m prepared to be angry here in a bit because I’m watching Roots, but its at the very beginning. Kunta just saw his first white man, but it all goes downhill pretty quickly from there. Roots came about when I was living in Germany, and the German tv stations actually broadcasted it before the armed forces network did. Which was just 1 channel at the time. So we caught it in German, because it was either that or Hee-Haw ( which I did watch, don’t front). Plus, but I was in the middle of reading the book. Yes I was almost 9 at the time, but my Dad was heavy into black pride, so I was well versed in the black experience at this point.
Anyway, I’m chilling my mind to bring a good selection of some stuff to keep me good. And I have to start out with Groove is in the Heart, cuz if that doesn’t make you feel good when you hear it, shit you just need to lay it down and let Death take you, son. God put that shit on Earth for you and me to enjoy. There’s also a couple of disco song, that I make no apology for. If you couldn’t enjoy disco, then there’s something wrong with you, not the music.
Shit! I took too long, they caught Kunta on the beach.
